Who we support?

Our single mandate is to support Milton District Hospital!  

Milton District Hospital (MDH) is a community hospital offering a wide range of primary care services. MDH’s major clinical areas include emergency, complex continuing care, obstetrics, general medicine, ICU, surgery and rehabilitation.  The hospital currently serves a town and rural population of over 100,000. MDH is one of three hospitals within Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) along with Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Georgetown Hospital.

Since opening its doors in 1959, Milton District Hospital has been providing outstanding healthcare to the Milton community. In 1987, more than 60 percent of the building was completely renovated and an addition built. In 2007 a new Diagnostic Imaging Annex was built adjacent to the old Diagnostic Imaging Centre.

MDH is committed to keeping pace with new technological development and replacing worn out and obsolete equipment. Each year, the hospital prioritizes its greatest needs and outlines the equipment required to service its clinical programs.

MDH does face challenges: government funding covers only a small portion of our equipment needs, and the increasing demand for services from a growing population, limited floor space and an aging building have impacted delivery of MDH’s services, all of which are operating over capacity.

To alleviate these concerns and ensure efficiency in diagnosis and treatment it is essential that our staff and physicians have access to the best medical and rehabilitation equipment. Investment by the Milton community remains a vital component of the solution to provide funding in areas where the government does not.

How we support?

Our single focus is to raise funds to fulfill our mandate! 

A registered charity founded in 1980, Milton District Hospital Foundation (MDHF) works to raise funds for Milton District Hospital (MDH), site of Halton Healthcare Services (HHS).
MDHF raises funds to help purchase vital medical equipment and improve the facilities through annual fundraising initiatives, community events, and a combination of various other programs. All donations made to MDHF remain in Milton.
Over the years MDHF has developed a strong tradition of community support to ensure the people of Milton have access to quality healthcare close to home.  You can help to meet the healthcare needs of tomorrow by participating today. MDHF most gratefully acknowledges all those who continue their generous support through individual, community or corporate partnerships with MDHF to benefit the hospital.

Our Foundation raises funds for MDH through a number of means:

• Direct Marketing and Individual Giving
• Planned Giving and Endowment
• Major Gifts
• Special Events: Annual MDHF Gala, Annual MDHF Golf Tournament and Breakfast With Santa

The Foundation also works with members of our community who raise funds on our behalf for MDH. These Community Partner events are organized by schools, service clubs, employee and union groups, cultural groups and dedicated individuals who have chosen to support their community hospital.
