Why Give

Milton District Hospital is a 65-bed community hospital providing mostly primary care to the residents of Milton. The hospital currently serves a town and rural population of over 85,000. Areas of clinical emphasis include obstetrics, general medicine, surgery, rehabilitation and complex continuing care.

The original building was constructed in 1959; in 1987 an addition was built and more than 60 per cent of the building was completely renovated. In 2007 a new Diagnostic Imaging Annex was built adjacent to the old Diagnostic Imaging Centre. MDH is situated on 30 acres of land with approximately 20 acres remaining for future development. The area's population is expected to grow to 128,000 by 2016 with projections of the town reaching a population of 170,000 by 2021.

While the government provides most of the day-to-day costs of running Milton District Hospital, it does not provide all of the funding for the hospital’s equipment needs. Milton District Hospital Foundation raises funds to help purchase vital medical equipment and improve facilities. It is only through the generous support of the community that our hospital will continue to be well-equipped to serve you, your family and your friends when you need it most.

Your donations to Milton District Hospital Foundation are essential to ensuring a strong future for Milton District Hospital!
