Message from the Milton District Hospital’s Chief Operating Officer – Allan Halls

Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) and the Milton District Hospital Foundation Board recognize and appreciate that our community has invested heavily in this Hospital to make it what it is today - a caring facility providing essential health services for you and your family. Our patients are cared for using the safest, most modern equipment possible by qualified and helpful staff.

A major focus at MDH and at HHS this past year has been on advancing our planning for a much needed expansion and redevelopment of our hospital. I am pleased to report that important progress was made, but much still remains to be accomplished before we can move ahead with the project. We have received support from Milton Council and Mayor Gordon Krantz due in part to the recently formed community-based group – The Friends of Milton Hospital. The Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (MH LHIN) has also voiced the need to move quickly onto the next stage of planning for the MDH expansion. We are presently seeking approval from the Ministry of Health to do just that.

Our hospital has earned an excellent reputation for providing quality patient care close to home. The Care Team at MDH continues to grow and develop as it works to maintain and improve services to our community. In the next year we’ll continue to focus on two areas – advancing our case for expanding MDH to be “right-sized” for a growing Milton, as well as continuing our efforts to ensure that each and every patient who comes to us receives the highest quality and safest care they have come to expect at MDH.
